Help & FAQs

  • We are in the early days at Microfone, thank you for being one of the first to join us. Currently, Microfone is in closed testing, but you can join the wait list here.

  • Because your voice carries emotion, nuance, and humanity in a way text and images alone never can. Studies show voice builds empathy, lowers stress, and increases trust. Plus, no one can judge your outfit or your follower count.

  • Yes! We created Microfone as an anonymous platform specifically to make people more comfortable sharing their voice. Because listening is the key experience of being on Microfone, all content requires voice.

  • Because anonymity is a core belief of Microfone we decided to not allow following. It’s easy to accidentally doxx yourself over a long period of time posting content. Instead, we have a friends feature under development where users who know each other in real life can share their Microfone experience in a more intimate way.

  • Anything. People come to Microfone for advice, confessions, jokes, debates, and hot takes. Whether you’re unpacking heartbreak or rating gas station snacks, there’s a mic for that.

  • Yes. You can speak freely, reply openly, and stay anonymous by default — unless you choose otherwise.

  • That’s the whole point! Start discussions by replying to voice posts and creating threaded conversations that sound like real life.

  • Nope. You don’t need a podcast voice, a script, or perfectly formed thoughts — just say what’s on your mind. This isn’t a stage, it’s a conversation. The best way to get out of your head is to be curious about others.

  • No. It’s a rebellion against the “perform and conform” platforms. A space for actual connection. And a reminder that your real voice — raw, weird, honest — is the best way to authentically connect with other humans.
